#97 A Change of Mind

A blessed and reflective reading to all (".)

Acts 11 (excerpts)
Peter Explains His Actions
...When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.”

The Church in Antioch
19 Now those who had been scattered by the persecution that broke out when Stephen was killed traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch, spreading the word only among Jews. 20 Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus. 21 The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.

22 News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. 23 When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. 24 He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.

...The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.

Praise God!

With gladness of heart and humble submission to our Loving Father, I am sharing my thoughts today based on some reflections related to repentance:

"Repentance," what does it truly mean?

As I delve deeper into its meaning, repent means "a change of mind." The Bible says that when there is truly a change of mind, it will result in a change of action.

When Jesus began to preach, these are His first words:
Matthew 4:12-17
Jesus Begins to Preach
...17 From that time on Jesus began to preach,Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

It can't be overemphasized how significant it is to examine and explore the  passage to an abounding and immeasurable life with God. Remember, Heaven is just a breath-away if we will truly embrace the genuine meaning of repentance.

As an accountant, I've been drawn to the equation presented by Rodney Anderson in his "A Beautiful Mind" message.

Right Thinking (RT)
Time (T)                      x (GOD) = Change Life (CL)

express as:
if we will all think what is right, over time, magnified by the power of God, then we can be assured of a truly change life :)

Isn't that amazing!

That is how God prompts us every moment of as we live our lives for God. He is telling us, "I can change you; it will start from your heart as you accept me; then I will help you with all your thoughts processes to make it right, positive, good and perfect because anything that is not good and right and perfect doesn't come from Me; and if you will live thinking and acting out what is right every moment of your life, then you are assured, you will have a change life, a life focus on me and my perfect will for you!" Amen, isn't it?

There is no gray area in here. Only black and white; we all know what is right from wrong because it is inherent in us. That is how God designed us- to distinguish what is right from wrong. The most wonderful thing, if we are hesitant, if we are not so sure, we have God to turn to, we have His Bible, His God-breathed words; in it we will find all our answers; so how can we go wrong.

In God's grace, we will be able to see His perfect plan for all of us, but we need to give time and attention to Him. We need to move, we can't be passive, we need to strengthen our relationship with Him.......but everything needs to have a "start button," and that is repentance.

God bless us all :)

November 11, 2011- Exodus 36-38

Today is the day :)
If you have not received Jesus Christ yet in your heart, today is the day. May you embrace His love and His gift :)

"Lord Jesus, I believe You are truly the Son of God. I confess that I have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed. Please forgive all my wrongdoing, and let me live in relationship with You from now on. I receive You as my personal Savior, accepting the work You accomplished once and for all on the cross. Thank You for saving me. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to You. Amen." (ref prayer by: Mr. Charles Stanley)

Why am I doing this? Simple...."I am driven by the eternal destiny of others."
