#2 Why Are We Alive?

Through the hustle and bustle of life, let us pause for awhile and think.....

Why are we here on earth? What is the real reason?

Have we wondered why are we living?

......My sharing for today is my spiritual view of life (".)

Our Loving Lord created us that is why we have life and we are here on earth. But why?

We are alive because of God, and it is for His pleasure.

Revelation 4:11 says,
“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
   and have their being.”

Colossians 1:16 reiterates the point:
For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

But it doesn't mean that we are created for God's entertainment or for His amusement, rather, it is but natural for Him to create, so He created us, and it gives Him pleasure. In addition, God wants us to have a genuine and personal relationship with Him - it makes Him happy.

Genesis 1:27
So God created mankind in his own image,
   in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

Being made in the image and likeness of God, we have the ability to know God and therefore love Him, worship Him, serve Him, and have fellowship with Him.

God did not create us because He needed us. As God, He needs nothing. In all eternity past, He felt no loneliness, so He was not looking for a “friend.” He loves us but it doesn't mean He needs us. If we had never existed, God would still be God—the unchanging One.

Malachi 3:6
“I the LORD do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.

Exodus 3:14
God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”

The I AM was never dissatisfied with His own eternal existence. When He made the universe, He did what pleased Himself, and since God is perfect, His action was perfect. “It was very good”.

Genesis 1:31
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

Also, God did not create “peers” or beings equal to Himself. Logically, He could not do so. If God were to create another being of equal power, intelligence, and perfection, then He would cease to be the one true God for the simple reason that there would be two gods—and that would be an impossibility. “The LORD is God; besides him there is no other”. Anything that God creates must of necessity be lesser than He. The thing made can never be greater than, or as great as, the One who made it.

Deuteronomy 4:35
You were shown these things so that you might know that the LORD is God; besides him there is no other.

Recognizing the complete sovereignty and holiness of God, we should be amazed that He would take us and crown us “with glory and honor” (Psalm 8:5) and that He would condescend to call us “friends” (John 15:14-15).

Psalm 8:5
You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.

John 15:14-15
You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

Points to Ponder:
We are alive because of God, because He created us for His pleasure and purpose, He love us and He wants us to be His friends, more so, He wants us to be His children, isn't it just right that we give Him the worthiness that He truly only deserves? Isn't it fitting that we, as His creations, give back pleasure to Him by knowing Him wholeheartedly?

God bless everyone (".)
